O-H-I-O

We took a lil break last weekend from house stuff to visit Kade's parents in Ohio and go to his friend Greg O.'s wedding. I got to meet a lot of nice people, had a snow cone, helped pick beans and corn, danced a little, visited Kade's favorite place in Cincinnati, Skyline Chili--twice, saw A LOT of corn and soybeans, got a lot of great veggies and saw some pretty sunsets. Oh yeah, and I was called a heifer, but in a good way. Ask Kade to tell you the story--I think his laugh gets bigger every time!

The siding folks started putting siding up last Thursday and finished while we were on our trip to O-H-I-O!! One of these days, probably after the inside has floors, walls and paint, we'll repaint the porch with a fresh coat of white paint and get some black shutters up around the windows, or "winders" as Kadester calls them.

It's not easy being green...

New siding is going on the house this week!! yay! We're at a color dilemma:
Kade loves the "Cypress" color. I'm partial to the "Natural Clay" or the "Savannah Wicker." Do any of you want to chime in with thoughts?? The link below should have a chart of colors. I think the other colors are more neutral and appeal to more people. Kade thinks the green will "pop!" Kade might be right-I might like the green, but I'm not 100% sold.

End of June-July 4th-mid July

Kade and GMan replaced floor joists and subfloor in the front bedroom * Brad Jones stopped by to check out the place * Bought bathroom tile for both bathrooms * Kade was a brick mason and cement layer for a day or two * I saw tiny little red jacks (the boys assure me they're strong) hold up the house--and you could hear the house creak when Kade moved one * Took a little break for July 4th to party with Goob and Company * We bought a refrigerator on major sale * I helped Kade hang floor joists and place subfloor, and nail lots of nails * Tommy, Emily, and lil Kate joined us for a house tour and Michael's pizza * Filled up our fourth dumpster and cleaned up the yard a bit * Kade's been working on framing out the entertainment center for the living room and master bedroom closet * We've missed GMan and Cindy * Talked to the electrician & duct work folks * Our cucumbers and other garden veggies are growing fast! * I managed to study A LOT and pass my thesis defense!! * Kade worked hard on the days I had to hit the books * Kade's gotten me hooked on Hot Spot slushies--the strawberry one is GOOD!! * We have sunflowers!!! *
